The Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction states that “what you focus on expands”. This law can be seen in action when we say “it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy”. Your mind is incredibly powerful, and it can talk you into or out of just about anything. It also creates your reality with your thoughts. What are you focusing on? How is it playing out in your life? For example, do you often say, “this always happens to me”, “it never fails”, or “I always have (fill in the blank)”? I have a friend who complains non-stop about restaurant service, so it is of no surprise to me when, out of all of us who eat together, he is the only one who’s order comes incorrectly. And of course, he seems to look for bad service. He is so focused on bad service that he experiences it on a consistent basis. If he chose to focus on the times when his order came out correctly instead he would probably experience a lot more happiness in this area of his life. The Law of Attraction is best understood when we view everything in our external reality as a mirror of our internal reality. In other words, the negativity you may feel inside will be reflected back to you in your outer world. You attract your situations first through your inner thoughts and feelings. This is wonderful because you always have a way to measure your vibration, and it puts you in the driver's seat of your life! There is no one to blame or congratulate for your experiences but you. To use the Law of Attraction to shift your life, begin to turn everything in your life around to you. If someone annoys you, turn it around to understand how you are annoying you. Work it out, and then focus on what you want (in this case, it may be self-love). You are attracting 100% of the time, but the question is, are you doing it consciously? Are you actively creating what you want, or are you simply creating the same life over and over by reacting to what life is bringing you? You choose- Active Creation or Reaction. To get started in activating the Law of Attraction in your favor, try these simple actions: - Every evening, write down all the good things that you experienced.
- Every morning, write down what you appreciate in your life.
- Throughout the day, focus on what you like (A good story to illustrate my point: one day while driving during my lunch hour, I was slowed down by construction in the road. A friend of mine was upset and complaining that the city would choose to do construction as such an inconvenient time. Meanwhile, I’m thinking about the tasty sandwich that I’m about to enjoy, when I see the most beautiful butterfly- I was so excited by that, and I felt such joy! I was able to block out my friend’s negativity, and then shortly thereafter he apologized and calmed down. You choose how you feel and what you attract!).
The Law of Attraction is a constant. If you are in the process of manifesting something, be it money, friendship, or health, take notice of every time you experience prosperity, a kind word from someone, or feel pain-free. Even if it is an extra $5, or just a few minutes of health, celebrate it! Those moments will eventually expand. I monitor my thoughts and beliefs, and amend them to attract positivity and joy into my life. I am abundant in all areas of my life!

Remember that a lifetime of negative mental habits will not change overnight. Habits take time to form- all you are doing now is creating more positive, life-enhancing habits! Begin now by writing down all the wonderful gifts in your life, and all the success you have experienced (especially in areas where you are feeling lack)! Begin using the Law of Attraction today to create a more joyous, abundant life! Anything is possible if you believe it to be so. Watch your thoughts over the next few days, and write down your mental habits. Gently shift them towards more positive thinking and create new mental habits. Have fun and feel good today!
