Manifesting Abundance - 'How Are You Being' Series?

Being Abundant Through Mad (as in crazy lots of) Appreciation

I’m sure by now everyone has heard that the key to manifesting abundance is to appreciate, appreciate, appreciate! This line of thinking is so popular mainly because it’s so effective. So why do so many people have trouble appreciating? And really, let me ask you the million dollar question- Are you really practicing mad appreciation? Even if you think you are appreciating enough, I think you could appreciate more. I bet you are thinking, “I already write down all the things I am grateful for, like my house, car, family, friends, job…what else can I do?”. But I know there is more you can love and appreciate. Are you truly honoring everything in your life?

Are you really seeing all of the gifts in your life?

Right now, take a deep breath. Really take a good look around you. Look past all the things you normally see, and go deeper. What can you appreciate that you don’t normally even see? Even more than that, what can you appreciate that your mind is telling you to resist?. That’s where your true key to freedom and abundance lies.

So many times we just blow through life not even stopping to feel what it is really about. We are human beings- the key word is “being”. That means feeling and allowing. When we don’t stop to experience life fully how we can truly appreciate it? How can we really understand how abundant we are (and therefore experience more of it in ways that we want, i.e. money!) if we don’t even stop to appreciate all that our experience is giving us? Manifesting abundance in our lives requires us to actually beabundant in spirit.

Practice finding something to appreciate. Find something new to appreciate several times a day. Train yourself to see new things to appreciate each and every day. Train yourself to really see your life and to honor every moment, instead of just glossing over it and going through the motions.

Seriously Allowing

If you are feeling extra spunky then start practicing appreciating things that you resist. Crazy co-worker? Love her or him! (Hey, most of us bump into an irrational colleague at some point or another. See it as an opportunity to practice compassion. Or at the very least, they add entertainment value!) Is your house in chaos? Laugh about it...no need to take everything so seriously. When you can start appreciating everything you see, life opens up. It’s all a reflection of you anyway (because everything is connected), so your ability to appreciate everything in your life is really all about how much you can appreciate YOU.

That last sentence may sound kind of “out there” and esoteric, so I’ll put it another way: that which annoys you in other people is always a place where you can look inside yourself and practice self-love. Any feeling we are resisting is a place where we can get our power back through self-love and acceptance. What if you start appreciating the aspects in people that you may find annoying? It’s easier to do when you look inside, do an honest and thorough self-appraisal, and see that maybe that which you resist in others is that which you resist in yourself. So, all that being said, where can you send mad, crazy appreciation out to yourself and to others that you had previously rejected?

One final note- if we don't value and honor ourselves then most people won't value you and honor you, either. We all know people who devalue themselves for some reason or another and how do we know it? Because it's easy to pick up on, even if it's just on a subconscious level. And if people can't honor themselves it's difficult for others to honor them as well. My point? That the more you value YOU, the more you will see abundance show up in your life. To express this succinctly and mathematically, self-love + appreciation = manifesting abundance. I love math. ;-)

Take a day and just really focus on all the gifts in your life, down to the tiniest little details- practice seeing the gifts in your life, and appreciate them. Appreciate all the events and circumstances that you previously deemed to be bad and view them now through the lens of appreciation (this is a big key to letting go of the past, by the way!). More than anything, practice appreciating and honoring yourself, for you are amazing!
