Raise Your Vibration - Going To The Darkside!
How much time do you spend in the dark side and how can it raise your vibration? By dark side, I mean emotions we judge as “bad”. I also mean looking at those areas of your life that you aren’t so proud of or that cause you pain. Do you bury things and tuck them away? Do you avoid dealing with hurt and pain? What if you looked at it and moved on? Do you think that it could raise your overall energy vibration and allow you to resonate at a more peaceful level? I want to clarify something first. Many times people tell me that they do look at their pain. “Cari, I look at my pain. I think about it and cry all the time!”. Well, here’s the thing with that. Dwelling, bitching, complaining, whining, and feeling victimized aren’t actions that heal and they don't raise your vibration. They are actions that perpetuate. When I say to look at your pain, I mean from a higher perspective. What does looking at your pain from a higher perspective look like? Here are questions to ask yourself about something that causes you pain. The angrier or more self-righteous you get over these questions the better- that’s where the pot of gold lies. - What good has come from the situation?
- How did I contribute to creating this?
- Can I acknowledge that I am a co-creator in every situation in my life?
- Why I am choosing to feel like a victim when I know I create my reality?
- How does holding on to this pain serve me?
- Can I let this pain go?
- Can I feel the emotions that are coming up without judgment?
- Can I feel these emotions purely, without replaying “the story” over and over?
- What if this is merely an experience, and not good or bad?
- Can this experience be in my highest good, even if I can’t see it?
- Are my judgments and thoughts about this situation even true?
- What does my heart say vs. my mind?
How do you feel after asking yourself these questions? Maybe you feel better and can view these things from a higher perspective. Maybe you are really pissed off at me right now because I am implying that you actually had something to do with these events. Maybe you are really upset because you are ashamed because you did something that hurt someone else. Or maybe you are still in denial…although I doubt it because people in denial usually don’t end up on my website! If you are feeling angry and self-righteous then ask yourself why? When you blame others you are handing your power over to them. To acknowledge that you create your reality is to reclaim your power and raise your vibration. The longer you hold on to bitterness and blame, the longer you are powerless. That is to say that you will continue to create situations that hold this exact same vibration until you heal or take your power back by taking responsibility. That is why we create cycles- because our vibration creates our reality and until you raise your vibration from one of blame and powerlessness to one of acknowledgment and responsibility you will continue to feel like a victim. Sorry to give it to you so boldly but hey, I don’t beat around the bush! Whatever you think about what I said, that is the experience you will continue to draw to you. Your thoughts and beliefs create your reality. If you feel ashamed because you hurt someone, then I hope that you can see that everything happens for a reason (cliché but true!). Your actions, though they may have caused pain, bring opportunities for healing. We often have “soul agreements” with people to do things that facilitate healing. On a soul level, it is a gift, although it’s hard to see from this limited perspective. Trust your actions and yourself. If you feel ashamed or guilty then just spend a few minutes in that emotional state without brain chatter, and just be in it. Eventually it will move on to something better and brighter. Beating yourself up or worse, sweeping this under the rug so you don’t have to feel it will cause you to create more situations until you feel your feelings and allow them to move and flow. (See the above paragraph in regards to your vibration and reality!) What is the payoff for going to the dark side? Ah, well, you raise your vibration! (Woo Hoo! That is always a good thing!) You get some (or a lot) of your power back. You find more inner peace. You see things from your Soul’s perspective instead of from the limited viewpoint of your small self. You align with creating a brighter, more peaceful future! What is the payoff for not going? You get to maintain the status quo, which makes your mind and ego deliriously happy! You get to create more similar situations (although they might improve mildly or they may get worse, depending on how much you are naturally healing or how much you are burying) because your vibration, thoughts and attitudes haven’t changed. And you will still have dramatic stories to tell and you can continue to be a victim, if that’s your thang. Another thing to note is the effect all of this has on your physicality. Buried emotional pain always translates into a physical ailment. The physical body is a fantastic barometer because it will always give you warning signals when something is amiss. It’s like the warning lights on your car’s dashboard. Bad pain is like smoke coming out from under the hood. What would you do if it were an actual car? You would pay attention, stop the car, and get your car repaired, right? So why wouldn’t you give the same level of care to your body? If you naturally tend to look at your issues then you can heal yourself. I never go to the doctor except for an occasional acupuncure/chiropractor visit because most of the time I heal myself (in other words, physical ailments tend to leave my body naturally, without my having to do anything other than deep tissue work). I am able to do this because I look at things when they come up. I question my thoughts and beliefs and whether or not they are true. I don’t tolerate drama, and I try and find the higher perspective in my life. You know, it’s the stickiest situations (the ones that cause the most anger, pain, and sadness) that are the most difficult to look at, but the payoff is so sweet. And remember, you will never get more than you can handle! (If you need a basic starting point other than my bullet list, then what if you wrote down what was bothering you as if you were talking to a trusted friend or therapist, and then go to bullet list after you feel more comfortable?) Think of this “going to the dark side” experience like a scary movie- it’s scary, but at the end of the movie there is light, so try and enjoy this! Don't force it, though- anything that needs to be felt in order to shift will naturally come up and that right time. This article will simply give you the tools for when the occasion arises. And to quote
Lola Jones,
feel the feeling without the story!”.
